                       Wednesday morn
Dearest Nursie:
                                  Your
nice letter received Monday
and will write you just
a few words today although
I dont suppose you will
get it in several days,
as the mails are water
bound. Well the "breeze" was
most too strong for me to ven-
ture out Sunday, although
I felt like defying the elements
to get to see you. Sweetheart
it seems that fate is against
us. Every time we expect to see
each other some thing happens

to prevent and it is always
something over which we
have no control. However
our time will come, and
we shall like it better
for the waiting, or I shall.
     I cannot believe you want
to see me half as bad as
I do you. If you did you
would not hide in the school
house when I go out there.
When I was out there last
week I went up near the house
to knock those balls purposely
to see you, but did not get
a glympse of you at all. You
see I have no right to go in
a school house. I got your

sisters invitation to the dance
Friday night and acknowledged
same at once, but am not
sure whether I can go or
not. I am going if possible
just so I may be with you
for a few minutes. I know
you will have so many "beaus"
until I cannot get  in speak
ing distance. I have been
terribly lonesome of late.
    Quintus is gone and Blanche
too, and I miss them so much
     Major is home with me
now and will stay until Sun-
day. He and I will try to be
at the dance. I have got to
see Joe one day this week about
a game of ball, and will let you

know for certain whether we
will come or not. I havent time
to write a long letter today for
I have double work to do now.
I hant had time to post my
books since Saturday and have
a half days writing to do on
them - Dont you pity me?
I will stop. hoping to see
you real soon.
               Ever yours,
                     Jno.H.A.
